Location: London (On-site only)

Hourly Rate: £19.00 - £20.00

Contract Period: From 1st June 2026 to 31st March 2027 (Renewal after the contract period is undecided)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Planning and managing exchange meetings and subcommittees for Japanese food companies in the UK, providing information on regulations and market conditions.
  • Conducting research on UK regulations and market conditions related to agricultural and food products, either through contracted research companies or independently.
  • Supporting education and commercial flow construction regarding Japanese agricultural and food products.
  • Coordinating with the Tokyo headquarters and other domestic and international offices.
  • Other tasks as directed by the director necessary for the operation of the Agricultural and Food Department or the London office.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work without requiring a visa.
  • Ability to commute to the designated workplace five days a week (Monday to Friday).
  • Experience, knowledge, or interest in food-related work.
  • Native speaker of English or Japanese, capable of business-level document creation in both languages.
  • Understanding of UK social, cultural, and business practices to build trust with UK companies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web conferencing systems such as Teams and Zoom.
  • Responsible and proactive in completing tasks by deadlines.
  • Healthy both physically and mentally, with no issues commuting to the office.

Working Conditions:

  • Working Hours: 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch break from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, actual working hours 7 hours).
  • Overtime: Generally none, but may require 1-3 hours of overtime during busy periods.
  • Workplace: Primarily based in the London office, with occasional outings in London with JETRO staff, transportation costs for outings will be reimbursed according to JETRO regulations.
  • Transportation costs from home to the London office are not reimbursed.
  • Equipment Provided: Desk, chair, phone, computer, and other necessary equipment for work.
  • Work Environment: Working in a large room with desks shared with other staff.
