We are seeking a Japanese Speaking Relationship Manager + M&A Vice President for a major global bank based in London.

The role involves:

  • Building and strengthening relationships with Japanese corporate clients in Europe.
  • Managing client accounts as a Corporate Banking Relationship Manager.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for corporate banking products such as transaction banking, providing solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and origination of M&A projects.
  • Monitoring clients' financial conditions, conducting financial and credit analysis, and managing credit risk appropriately.
  • Preparing and reviewing credit applications, various approval requests, waivers, and portfolio management tasks.
  • Coordinating with advisory firms and internal departments on M&A projects.
  • Collaborating with various locations within the EMEA region, the Japan office, and product teams to provide comprehensive financial solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with various regulatory requirements, including AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and internal regulations.

Requirements:

  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency.
  • Extensive practical experience as a Relationship Manager in corporate banking.
  • Knowledge and experience in M&A projects and corporate finance.
  • Strong knowledge of project finance, trade finance, treasury products, and credit analysis.
  • Understanding of MiFID II and financial crime-related regulations.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
