Position: Administration Assistant

Location: London, UK

Contract Period: Permanent (contract based)

Job Description:

A company is seeking an Administration Assistant who supports exports by Japanese companies to the competent country and imports of Japanese products by companies in the competent country.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Export promotion (Trade): Collect and provide information (by e-mail, telephone, interviews, etc.) in response to consultations on the export of Japanese products to the competent countries.
  • Information gathering, documentation and reporting on import and sales regulations and systems in the countries under their jurisdiction.
  • Respond to enquiries for products from companies in the competent country (by e-mail, telephone, interviews, etc.).
  • Assist in other export promotion-related work, after prior consultation with the director.
  • Receive enquiries, mainly in English, from inside and outside the office and refer them to the appropriate department within the office and to the appropriate parties outside the office.
  • Other assistance in general administration-related work, after prior consultation with the director.

Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
  • Native level English speaker with excellent business writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Japanese for daily conversations, business meetings, and reading business emails is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to tackle export support work for Japanese companies and import support work for UK companies with a sense of responsibility and satisfaction.
  • Have a sense of responsibility to achieve work by deadlines and a cooperative attitude to work with and help colleagues.

Working Conditions:

  • Working hours: 7 hours/day, 35 hours/week
  • Overtime: Generally not required, but up to 1 hour per day during busy periods.
  • Work location: Primarily at the company’s London office, with potential travel within the UK and abroad for meetings with UK companies.
  • Equipment provided: Desk, chair, phone, computer, and other necessary office supplies.
