Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Management Accounts: Produce detailed management accounts, including variance analysis, performance commentary, and KPI reporting to support business decision‑making.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting cycles, working closely with key stakeholders across the business.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow planning, forecasting, and reporting to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational requirements.
- Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and financial processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate year‑end audits and liaise with external auditors. Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax filings (e.g., VAT and Corporation Tax).
- Statutory Accounts: Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes, and reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Support, mentor, and develop finance team members, ensuring a high standard of performance and collaboration.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including auditors, banks, and advisors.
- Financial Analysis: Deliver insightful financial analysis and ad hoc reporting to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a senior finance role (e.g., Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Demonstrable experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
