We’re one of the fastest-growing media brands in the startup world that specialise at poking fun at the tech industry. (200M+ impressions | 170k followers). We help VCs, founders, and tech executives build authority on X with funny, unique content. Think hot takes, shitposts, and threads that actually get read instead of scrolled past. We hate timeline slop. We work with the best freelance writers who love going viral and want to do it every day. Every month, we help our clients get millions of views, and we're looking for someone who can help us substantially grow our business. This role starts part-time with the opportunity to grow into something much bigger :)
The Role
- Write unique, viral content for client X accounts, producing 10 posts per week / 45 per month (mix of singles and threads)
- Manage comments and replies for target accounts, engaging with the right conversations, landing dunks, and building presence through quote tweets and timely takes
- Take raw founder/VC/operator thoughts and turn them into polished, hilarious, high-performing posts
- Test hooks, formats, and styles to make bangers
- Create killer memes and shitposts
- Learn about a new industry and synthesise your learning into engaging content
- Collaborate with editors + the rest of the Jabroni writing team to hone your voice and skill
Our requirements:
- You have clear writing.
- You are an expert in saying things simply and elegantly, making complex topics simple and addressable.
- You understand virality on X specifically.
- You have made viral posts before for Twitter, and can look at viral posts and break down why they work.
- You get the platform.
- You know the difference between a post that works on LinkedIn and one that works on X, and you can write natively for the bird app.
- You are reliable and organised.
- You can consistently meet deadlines.
- You are tapped into tech and internet culture.
- This makes you great at finding viral topics, trends, and memes.
- You are good at knowing when to be funny and serious.
- Most of our clients want a mixture of funny content and insightful content. You understand how and when to do both.
