The Sr. Manager Material Handling & Warehouse Automation is responsible for defining and executing Jabil’s global automation strategy for warehouse and material flow operations. This role oversees the development, standardization, and deployment of scalable automation solutions across global sites, ensuring strong business impact, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. The position serves as the key liaison for requirements definition, vendor engagement, project execution, and successful system implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Leadership: Develop and lead the global strategy for Material Handling & Warehouse Automation. Align automation programs with operational, supply chain, and business priorities. Set and maintain global automation standards and preferred vendor lists.
- Project Delivery: Manage end‑to‑end automation projects—including requirements, vendor selection, design, installation, and handover. Ensure delivery on time, on budget, and with measurable ROI and safety improvements. Create standardized playbooks and deployment guidelines for global use.
- Technology & Innovation: Evaluate and implement technologies such as AS/RS, AMRs, AGVs, conveyors, sorters, WMS integrations, and vision systems. Lead trials and pilots to validate solutions before scaling. Promote integrated, end‑to‑end automation ecosystems.
- Team & Vendor Management: Lead global, cross‑functional engineering and project teams. Manage relationships with OEMs, system integrators, and key technology partners.
- Operational Excellence: Establish KPIs to measure automation performance and value. Drive continuous improvement using data, benchmarking, and site feedback.
Qualifications Knowledge & Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing and warehouse operations. Advanced expertise in Material Handling & Warehouse Automation technologies. Proven project management and vendor management experience. Ability to design integrated automation solutions and specify system requirements. Strong communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder‑influencing skills. Experience integrating automation with SAP, MES, and supervisory systems.
Education & Experience: B.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field. 8–10 years of experience in automation project management and equipment procurement. Equivalent education/experience combination considered.
