JAB Recruitment is currently supporting our client, a leading energy operator with a significant presence in the UK North Sea, to source a Technical Safety Engineer on a PAYE contract basis. This is a key role based in Aberdeen, with the contract running until 31st December 2025. The successful candidate will provide technical safety support across operations, engineering, and major projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting asset integrity across offshore installations.

This role supports the ongoing demands from operations, engineering, and major projects, including safety case updates and submissions, technical safety studies, ALARP demonstrations, and implementation of regional regulations. The position is integral to providing advice, assurance, and support in alignment with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Manage Safety Case updates and submissions
  • Update and maintain performance standards
  • Provide operational support including ORAs and ad hoc risk assessments
  • Apply ALARP and Process Safety Management principles

Qualifications & Training:

  • Degree in Engineering or Science (minimum requirement)
  • Prior experience in the oil & gas industry
  • Previous experience in Technical Safety
  • Strong technical background with excellent engineering knowledge
  • Proven experience in a similar technical/process safety role in oil & gas
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK major hazards regulatory framework
  • Skilled in developing technical safety solutions and risk assessments
  • Familiarity with instrument/control and process engineering disciplines
  • Experience with consequence modelling and frequency analysis
