JAB Recruitment is currently looking to source a Project Engineer on behalf of our Oil and Gas Operator client located in Aberdeen. This is a PAYE contract role.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Engineering support for the Rig Return to Service Project.
  • Responsible for development and execution of work scopes, management of technical queries, management of change and supervision of contractors for delivery of technical documents, equipment overhaul and offshore construction/commissioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive safety culture within project team onshore and offshore.
  • Ensure compilation of work scopes and work specifications.
  • Input into the review and monitoring of delivery programmes and cost estimates.
  • Input into the preparation of project control documents and processes and their upkeep.
  • Provision of support to contractors, operations and construction teams.
  • Ensure execution of work and deliverables are compliant with project requirements.
  • Input and review of vendor planning and offshore scopes ensuring compliance with Client planning process.
  • Sourcing information for delivery to external parties.
  • Deputise for Project Lead.
  • Occasional offshore trips required to monitor/plan progress and oversee key tasks.
  • Represent the project at weekly operational planning meetings.
  • Work with key vendors to develop pre-commissioning and commissioning plans.

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

Essential

  • Degree in engineering discipline

Preferred

  • Project management qualifications e.g., APM, PMI, PRINCE2
  • Current Offshore Survival Certificate

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Essential

  • Experience in completions management systems for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities (Orbit System or equivalent knowledge)
  • Project engineering experience (or similar such as package management)
  • Highly effective relationship builder at all levels, internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, written and presentation)
  • Strong initiative and orientation towards focused delivery
  • Experience of applying risk and change management processes
  • Past exposure to multi-discipline work

Preferred

  • Previous experience in drilling system overhaul, reactivation or operation
  • Knowledge of project delivery framework for decision making and assurance
  • Knowledge and experience of financial control, cost estimating and planning
  • Design engineering awareness and good understanding of codes, standards, risk-based decision making, quality assurance and compliance

  • Collaborative and flexible approach
  • Good understanding of project delivery processes and when and how to apply them
