JAB Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Fabricator to join a leading global engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Plymouth.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Composite Fabricator or someone looking to develop a career in advanced manufacturing.
The successful candidate will be involved in producing high-quality composite components using hand lay-up, wet lamination, vacuum infusion and specialist fabrication techniques.
Working within a skilled manufacturing team, you will receive hands-on training and development while contributing to the production of complex, high-value engineering products.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out composite fabrication, including hand lay-up, wet lamination and vacuum infusion.
- Prepare moulds, materials and consumables for manufacturing processes.
- Use hand tools and power tools to trim, drill, fit and finish composite components.
- Assemble components and sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Prepare surfaces for painting and coating, including sanding, filling and finishing.
- Ensure all work meets strict quality, safety and production standards.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in composite fabrication, lamination or vacuum infusion would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of composite materials, resins and reinforcements is desirable.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical instructions.
- Experience using hand tools, measuring equipment and fabrication tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new manufacturing techniques.
- Willingness and ability to work safely with chemicals, composite fibres and associated materials.
