  • We are recruiting for an experienced

Technical Manager to join the leadership team of a major Carbon Capture and Storage development based in Aberdeen.

This is a senior engineering leadership role with responsibility for the technical strategy, engineering governance and multidisciplinary delivery of a complex, multi-billion-pound CCS project from

Concept and FEED through execution and into operations .

The successful candidate will lead engineering disciplines and supply chain partners to ensure safe, efficient and technically robust project delivery, while maintaining compliance with company procedures, industry standards and applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the multidisciplinary engineering and technical development of a major CCS project.
  • Provide strategic direction across Concept, FEED, execution and operational readiness.
  • Lead, coach and develop central engineering resources and Technical Authorities.
  • Own and implement

Design Integrity , engineering standards, procedures and processes.

  • Maintain oversight of engineering

Management of Change .

  • Lead technical risk management and ensure engineering risks are appropriately identified, assessed and controlled.
  • Prioritise and deploy engineering resources and specialist supply chain partners across the programme.
  • Work closely with Project Management and Supply Chain leadership to ensure outsourced engineering services deliver the required quality, consistency and commercial efficiency.
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of new and emerging technologies.
  • Act as a senior engineering focal point with external technical and industry bodies.
  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships across contractors, partners and other project interfaces.
  • Support project budget management, cost control and delivery against programme.

About you

We are looking for an established engineering leader with significant experience managing complex, multidisciplinary engineering programmes within major capital projects.

You will bring

  • A degree in Engineering .

Chartered Engineer status.

  • Significant project engineering / engineering management experience.
  • Experience delivering major projects through

Concept, FEED and execution .

  • Strong knowledge of engineering assurance, design integrity and technical governance.
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex technical and engineering risk.
  • Strong change-management capability.
  • Experience managing Technical Authorities, engineering teams and external engineering contractors.
  • The commercial judgement to balance technical integrity, programme, cost and business risk.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Experience within

CCS, upstream oil & gas, major energy infrastructure or similarly complex process-industry projects would be particularly relevant.
