JAB Recruitment is currently sourcing a Technical Support Lead for a 12-month contract supporting asset integrity management and asset integrity management systems projects across upstream, midstream and downstream energy assets. This is a UK-based role with remote working supported and occasional travel to Woking/Aberdeen or project locations as required. The position will suit an engineering professional with strong technical documentation, project support and quality review experience, ideally gained within asset integrity, topsides, subsea, corrosion, inspection, mechanical engineering or consultancy environments.
Role Overview
The Technical Support Lead will provide practical back-office technical and project support across multiple concurrent asset integrity projects. The key purpose of the role is to reduce pressure on the core project team, improve consistency and quality of project deliverables, and support delivery of reports, procedures, manuals and related technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical hands-on support across multiple concurrent projects.
- Support the Project Manager in maintaining quality, consistency and timely delivery of project outputs.
- Review reports, procedures and manuals for technical consistency, clarity, quality and alignment with project requirements.
- Support document development where required, including structured input into reports, procedures, manuals and supporting technical content.
- Assist with project management activities, including progress tracking, deliverable coordination and basic planning support.
- Act as a flexible delivery resource during workload peaks across different projects and disciplines.
- Work collaboratively with technical team members, project personnel and stakeholders to keep deliverables controlled and moving.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, ideally within mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Ideally Chartered Engineer status, or working towards chartership.
- Minimum 5-10 years relevant technical, project engineering, asset integrity, mechanical, inspection, corrosion, subsea or topsides experience.
- Strong Microsoft Office capability, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- SharePoint experience would be beneficial.
- Clear, concise and professional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong technical document review capability with excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Background
- Asset integrity management / AIMS experience.
- Consultancy, engineering services or operator-facing project environment.
- Topsides, subsea, corrosion, mechanical, inspection, pressure systems or related integrity discipline exposure.
- Experience supporting technical deliverables such as reports, manuals, procedures, inspection documentation or management system content.
- Comfortable working in a less structured, fast-moving project environment.
- Self-starter who can work remotely, manage priorities and maintain quality without close supervision.
- Cross-cultural awareness and ability to work respectfully with diverse teams and stakeholders.
