Project Department Description

Employee Relations is part of the HR function and is responsible for collective employment matters within the company. The unit manages collective agreements, salary processes, policies, and administrative arrangements, and ensures compliance with applicable laws, agreements, and internal requirements. Employee Relations operates globally to establish consistent principles and processes, while ensuring appropriate local adaptation. The unit plays a key role in developing strong, trust-based relationships between employees, their representatives, and management.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Functional responsibility for ensuring relevant UK employee policies are updated and compliant in line with evolving UK employment legislation.
  • Review HR policies and toolkits as needed to reflect UK best practice to align with corporate principles as appropriate.
  • Advise the business and PO colleagues on relevant ER policies and related escalations and deviations.
  • Project manage, and support operationally, on collective people processes and other human resources change initiatives.
  • Advise the organisation on strategy and approach towards unions where appropriate.
  • Own PO relationship with UK Works Council and drive improvement and engagement.
  • Support Head of UK PO on country HR agenda and priorities.
  • Other ad-hoc projects or tasks as needed.

Competence Requirements:

  • Experienced HR advisor / employee relations advisor with a solid generalist background.
  • Strong competence in Employee Relations.
  • Experience in supporting offshore/operational teams in addition to onshore teams.
  • Experience of working with employee works councils and unions.
  • Chartered CIPD member (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience supporting organisational change and development.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact and connect in a global matrix organization.
  • A proactive, self-motivated and delivery-oriented team player.
  • An effective communicator with strong oral and written skills.
  • High professional integrity.
  • Flexible working style and able to take on higher workload in busy periods.
