Contracts Analyst – Operations, Maintenance & Fabric Maintenance

Full-Time No working from home possible
J

Location: Aberdeen preferred – applications will also be considered from experienced candidates based elsewhere in the UK

We are looking to speak with experienced Contracts professionals who have worked closely with Oil & Gas Operations, Maintenance and Fabric Maintenance scopes.

This role will support the Operations & Maintenance and Fabric Maintenance functions, so we are particularly interested in candidates who understand the commercial and contractual realities of supporting live producing assets, offshore operations, maintenance campaigns, fabric maintenance programmes and associated service contracts.

Experience gained within an Operator environment would be advantageous, but we would equally welcome candidates from major contractors, EPC/service companies or supply chain organisations who have managed complex O&M and maintenance-related contracts within the UK Oil & Gas sector.

Reporting to the Contracts Team Lead, the position will play a key role in developing and executing contracting strategies and providing commercial and contractual support to operational stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute contracting strategies supporting Operations & Maintenance and Fabric Maintenance activities.

  • Manage a portfolio of onshore and offshore service, maintenance and work contracts.

  • Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Supply Chain stakeholders to understand current and future contracting requirements.

  • Provide advice on contract strategy, commercial risk, contractor performance and contractual matters.

  • Manage the full contracting lifecycle, including:

  • market assessment and supplier engagement

  • pre-qualification

  • preparation and issue of ITTs

  • commercial evaluation of tenders

  • contract award documentation

  • Undertake post-award contract management, including amendments, variations, claims, disputes and internal/external approvals.

  • Provide commercial advice around contractual risk allocation and cost exposure.

  • Support contractor and supplier performance management, working closely with Contract Owners and operational stakeholders.

  • Build effective working relationships with key contractors supporting offshore operations, maintenance, integrity and fabric maintenance programmes.

  • Drive continuous improvement across contracting processes and share best practice across Supply Chain and the wider organisation.

  • Ensure all contracting activities are undertaken in line with company procedures, governance requirements and audit controls.

  • Support outcome-based and performance-based contracting approaches designed to improve contractor performance and value.

  • Present key contracting strategies and recommendations at Contracts Review Boards.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting and commercial reporting as required.

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting contracts covering areas such as:

  • Oil & Gas Operations & Maintenance

  • Fabric Maintenance

  • Offshore maintenance and integrity

  • Brownfield / live asset support

  • Mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance

  • Inspection and integrity services

  • Scaffolding, rope access, painting and coating

  • Insulation and passive fire protection

  • Shutdowns and maintenance campaigns

  • Offshore manpower and specialist service contracts

  • Repair and maintenance services

  • Asset support and operational services

You should ideally have:

  • Strong contracting experience within the Oil & Gas industry.

  • Direct exposure to Operations, Maintenance and/or Fabric Maintenance contracts.

  • Operator experience would be beneficial, although strong contractor-side experience will also be considered.

  • A solid understanding of the UK Oil & Gas supply chain and contracting environment.

  • Experience working with LOGIC-based contracts.

  • Strong knowledge of pre-award and post-award contract management.

  • Experience managing variations, amendments, claims, disputes and contractor performance.

  • Good understanding of contractual risk allocation.

  • Strong commercial awareness and cost analysis capability.

  • Highly developed negotiation, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.

  • The ability to work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Knowledge of relevant UK procurement and compliance requirements.

  • Experience using systems such as SAP together with strong Microsoft Office capability.

  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and commercial reporting.

  • An understanding of project management principles.

Location

The preferred location for this role is Aberdeen, particularly for candidates already working within the North Sea Oil & Gas market.

However, we do not want location to prevent us speaking with the right individual. Experienced candidates based elsewhere in the UK will also be considered, particularly where they bring strong Operations, Maintenance or Fabric Maintenance contracting experience.

This could suit someone currently working as a Contracts Advisor, Senior Contracts Advisor, Contracts Engineer, Contracts Specialist, Contracts Lead or Commercial/Contracts Manager supporting an Operator, Tier 1 contractor or major Oil & Gas service organisation.
