Overview
We are currently seeking a commercially focused Commercial Coordinator with a strong accountancy and finance background to support project teams in the financial and contractual management of key projects.
This role is particularly suited to someone experienced in budgets, financial reporting, forecasting, cost control, and monthly accounts, who can provide accurate commercial insight and ensure robust financial governance across project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial and financial support to project teams across contract performance, budgeting, and cost control.
- Interpret commercial terms and contract administration requirements to help manage financial and delivery risk.
- Prepare detailed monthly financial and client reports, including value of works, spend forecasts, commitments, annual budgets, and business plans.
- Monitor ongoing financial performance through management accounts, re‑forecasts, and budget tracking, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met.
- Deliver internal cost and financial reporting aligned with corporate accounting standards, analysing recovery against costs and highlighting variances.
- Provide continuous financial analysis on expenditure, commitments, forecasts, and contract performance.
- Track KPI and financial performance to identify opportunities to improve commercial return.
- Review and approve third‑party invoices and ensure labour and supplier reconciliations are completed regularly.
- Support contract amendments, annual rate reviews, and updates to commercial structures.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate invoicing, strong cash collection, and effective debtor management.
- Contribute financial input to contract reviews, tenders, and new business proposals.
- Ensure all work is delivered in line with company policies, procedures, and financial controls.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified, ideally in Accountancy, Finance, or Quantity Surveying.
- Demonstrable experience in budget management, financial reporting, forecasting, cost control, and monthly accounts preparation.
- Strong understanding of commercial management, contract interpretation, and financial governance.
- Proven ability to produce cost/commercial reports, variance analysis, and financial trend reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills, with ERP system knowledge advantageous.
- Highly analytical, detail-focused, and comfortable working to tight financial reporting deadlines.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work effectively within a collaborative project environment.
- Previous experience within the oil and gas sector is preferred.
