Area Delivery Lead - EPC Execution

Full-Time On-site
J

Duration: Initial 18 months in Woking, with a view to relocating to Saudi Arabia

The Opportunity

JAB Recruitment is supporting a leading international engineering and project delivery organisation in the recruitment of an experienced Area Delivery Lead (ADL) to join a major EPC project for Saudi Aramco.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering and project delivery professional to take responsibility for a designated area or package of a large-scale oil and gas development, working across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.

The role will initially be based in Woking for approximately 18 months, with a view to transitioning to Saudi Arabia as the project progresses into subsequent execution phases.

Reporting directly to the Project Engineering Manager (PEM), the successful candidate will provide technical leadership, multidisciplinary coordination and delivery oversight, ensuring their assigned project area is executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme, cost and quality requirements.

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have previously worked on Saudi Aramco projects and have strong experience delivering complex EPC packages within major international oil and gas developments.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Area Delivery

  • Take ownership of the execution and delivery of an assigned EPC project area or package, ensuring alignment with project objectives, budgets, schedules and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities to ensure efficient and integrated project execution.
  • Monitor progress against key project milestones, identifying potential delays, technical challenges and delivery risks.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables, material availability, construction requirements and commissioning priorities remain aligned.
  • Support project planning, progress reporting and the achievement of key performance indicators.
  • Escalate critical delivery issues to the Project Engineering Manager, providing practical recommendations and recovery solutions.

Engineering & Multidisciplinary Coordination

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across relevant technical disciplines.
  • Oversee the timely delivery of engineering documentation, drawings and technical deliverables.
  • Resolve technical queries, engineering interfaces and interdisciplinary design conflicts.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco engineering standards, project specifications and applicable international codes.
  • Participate in design reviews, 3D model reviews, constructability studies, HAZOPs and technical workshops.
  • Coordinate engineering changes and ensure modifications are effectively communicated and implemented across disciplines.
  • Identify and manage risks affecting engineering delivery, procurement, construction readiness and project execution.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimise potential impacts on schedule, cost and quality.
  • Maintain effective communication across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and client teams.
  • Support resolution of technical and operational interfaces between project areas and work packages.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, lessons learned and project delivery optimisation.

Leadership & HSE

  • Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership and direction to multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability and effective communication across all project functions.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Ensure activities comply with project HSE requirements, Saudi Aramco standards and applicable regulations.
  • Encourage a proactive safety culture throughout all phases of EPC execution.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognised university.
  • Proven experience working on Saudi Aramco projects, with a strong understanding of client engineering standards, procedures and project delivery expectations.
  • Extensive experience within major oil and gas EPC projects, ideally covering engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
  • Previous experience in an Area Delivery Lead, Area Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, Package Manager, Project Engineering Lead or similar multidisciplinary delivery position.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex technical interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of EPC execution processes, engineering deliverables, project controls and construction readiness.
  • Experience managing project risks, resolving delivery challenges and supporting major project milestones.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a large, complex international project environment.
  • Previous involvement in major Saudi Arabian oil and gas developments.
  • Brownfield or offshore-related EPC project experience.
  • Experience supporting projects through the transition from engineering into construction and commissioning.
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

Working Arrangements & Project Location

The successful candidate will join the project team in Woking, Surrey.

The position is expected to remain UK‑based for approximately 18 months, with a view to relocating to Saudi Arabia as the project progresses.

This provides an opportunity to establish strong technical and project knowledge during the engineering phase before potentially transitioning into a delivery role in Saudi Arabia.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Work on a major, internationally significant Saudi Aramco EPC development.
  • Take ownership of a defined project area with direct responsibility for multidisciplinary delivery.
  • Work closely with an experienced Project Engineering Manager and wider international project leadership team.
  • Gain exposure to all phases of EPC execution, from engineering through construction and commissioning.
  • Opportunity for longer-term involvement in Saudi Arabia as the project progresses.
