Overview
JAB Recruitment is currently supporting an Operator client with the requirement for a Wellsite Performance Engineer to support offshore abandonment operations on a 3/3 rotation. This role will involve rotating between offshore installations, mobile rig operations and onshore office locations, providing both operational and performance engineering support. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting well abandonment operations, assisting offshore leadership, and driving performance improvements across wellsite activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Offshore Operations
- Assist and deputise for the Drilling Supervisor in managing rig operations
- Support preparation of morning reports, cement calculations and operational documentation
- Participate in daily work planning and logistics coordination
- Maintain familiarity with well objectives and abandonment programmes
- Compile daily operational look-aheads and support logistics planning
- Perform checks on rental equipment and maintain equipment records
- Maintain wellbore models to monitor torque, drag and hydraulics
- Maintain well files in accordance with well examination requirements
- Optimise logistics and operational execution as scope evolves
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and risk assessments
- Performance Engineering
- Monitor and analyse real-time operational data during abandonment operations
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend performance improvements
- Conduct pre-job and post-job performance reviews
- Capture lessons learned and feed back into future programmes
- Reduce non-productive time and optimise operational performance
- Collaborate with offshore and onshore teams to align performance objectives
- Support implementation of digital performance tracking tools
- Prepare performance reports and support weekly performance reviews
- Operations Support
- Identify risks and contingency requirements for upcoming operations
- Provide technical support to rig teams
- Support safe and efficient execution of offshore operations
- End of Well Reporting
- Compile operational data and performance analysis
- Prepare end-of-well reports and regulatory documentation
- Support close-out of non-conformance reports
- Document key learnings and operational outcomes
- QHSE
- Support compliance with operational procedures and management systems
- Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities
- Contribute to process and procedural improvements
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential
- Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline
- Previous offshore rig experience
- Offshore survival, medical and MIST certification
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting drilling or abandonment operations
- Preferred
- IWCF / Well Control Certification (Supervisor level preferred)
- Experience in abandonment or well intervention operations
- Performance engineering or wellsite optimisation experience
