JAB Recruitment is currently supporting an Operator client in the UK North Sea with the appointment of an Offshore Drilling Materials Co-ordinator to join their Wells team on a 12-month contractor basis. This role will be based offshore on a 3/3 rotation and will play a key part in supporting drilling, completion and well intervention operations through the effective coordination of materials, equipment and logistics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the planning, tracking and mobilisation of equipment and personnel to ensure offshore operations run efficiently and safely. Working closely with offshore drilling supervisors, onshore logistics teams and supply base personnel, the role ensures all materials and equipment are delivered to the installation in a timely manner and that equipment returns are properly managed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Liaising with offshore and onshore teams to coordinate equipment and material movements
- Preparing and issuing daily look-ahead reports in conjunction with the Drilling Supervisor
- Maintaining accurate records of company equipment and rental registers
- Coordinating supply vessel and anchor handling vessel movements through the relevant supply base
- Preparing and issuing load lists and manifests
- Coordinating personnel logistics and scheduled crew changes
- Ensuring all cargo movements comply with relevant UK offshore packing and handling guidelines
The Offshore Drilling Materials Co-ordinator will also be responsible for:
- Checking all equipment and goods shipped to and from the installation
- Reporting any non-conformances
- Maintaining accurate rental equipment records
- Coordinating the return of rental equipment
- Ensuring dangerous goods and waste regulations are adhered to
The role requires close collaboration with offshore and onshore wells teams, logistics teams, supply base personnel, drilling contractors and service providers to maintain safe and efficient operations.
Applicants should have extensive offshore experience within the UKCS, including direct experience supporting drilling operations in a materials or logistics role. A strong practical understanding of drilling, completion or well intervention equipment is essential, along with proven experience managing drilling materials movements and offshore logistics processes. Candidates should also have knowledge of UK guidelines relating to the safe packing and handling of cargo to and from offshore locations, along with an understanding of relevant UK customs requirements.
Essential certification includes a valid Offshore Survival certificate, UK medical and MIST, as well as IATA and IMDG dangerous goods certification. Candidates should be confident working with Microsoft Office applications and demonstrate strong organisational, communication and coordination skills. The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities is essential.
