The Role

As a Specification Consultant, you’ll play a key role in winning projects before they go to tender by getting products specified into designs. You’ll be responsible for building strong relationships across the architectural community, delivering technical presentations, and identifying new project opportunities across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with architects, specifiers and designers to influence product selection at early project stages
  • Deliver engaging CPD presentations and technical seminars (1:1 and group sessions)
  • Develop and manage a structured programme of client meetings and CPDs
  • Identify and track new project and specification opportunities
  • Promote a range of hard landscaping solutions, with awareness of wider construction product offerings
  • Proactively win new business by engaging clients unfamiliar with the product range
  • Maintain accurate records using CRM systems
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regional opportunities
  • Work closely with the sales team, handing over secured specifications for conversion to orders
  • Support marketing with case studies, project highlights and campaign ideas
  • Provide on-site technical support when required
  • Act as the voice of the customer, feeding back insights to support product development

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in specification sales, technical sales or construction products
  • Confident presenter, comfortable delivering CPDs to groups
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • Commercially aware with the ability to spot and develop opportunities
  • Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage a regional territory
  • Ideally some exposure to landscaping, paving, civils or building materials

Why This Role?
