About Client Financial Management

The Financial Management function is responsible for the delivery of all financial management activity undertaken for our clients within the JLL Property Management (PM) business.

The function comprises five core teams, each providing critical services to our clients and our business:

  • Accounts Receivable (c.60 UK colleagues, supported by c. 25 JBS colleagues)
  • Treasury & Control (10 UK colleagues, c.50 JBS colleagues)
  • Accounts Payable (c. 70 JBS colleagues only)
  • Property Accounting, including Fund Accounting (c. 150 UK colleagues, supported by c. 40 JBS colleagues) – formerly Client Accounts
  • Supplier Engagement Team (c. 15 UK colleagues working with the JBS AP colleagues)

The primary focus of the services is for the UK Property Management business, but the teams also support the broader EMEA Property Management business, most notably in Ireland.

The role will have direct line management responsibility for the UK colleagues listed above.

These teams deliver all financial accounting and operational services for our clients, including collection of income due from occupiers, payment and reconciliation of service charges, treasury management, fund administration, supplier payment and engagement, and all associated financial accounting activity.

Combined, the function operates across the UK and India (JBS), with significant scale and scope across our client portfolio.

Given the inherently high risk within the PM business and the requirement for compliance with RICS and HMRC regulation, adherence to documented controls and procedures is critical.

An annual ISAE 3402 third‑party controls assurance report setting out the key controls important to our clients evidences this compliance.

Role Purpose

As Head of Financial Management, you will lead and develop the five financial management teams, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement whilst creating a thriving culture of accountability and professional excellence.

You will combine relentless focus on operational delivery with vision for transformation, working seamlessly with our UK and offshore (JBS) teams to ensure best‑practice execution at scale.

Your leadership will be visible, purposeful, and values‑driven, setting the tone for a culture of integrity, service excellence, and sustainable performance improvement.

This role will report into the Head of Operations for the UK Property Management business and work closely with cross‑functional PM UK leadership (as part of the UK Property Management Leadership Team) to ensure successful delivery of financial management activity for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Delivery
  • Lead and manage all five financial management teams (Accounts Receivable, Treasury & Control, Accounts Payable, Property Accounting including Fund Accounting, and Supplier Engagement Team) to deliver consistent, high‑quality service across UK and JBS operations.
  • Drive excellent operational performance and efficiency, establishing strong controls and ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements (RICS, HMRC, ISAE 3402) at all times.
  • Provide direction and support to manage allocation of resources, performance and competing priorities to consistently meet client expectations and service level agreements, whilst establishing systems and processes to actively monitor resource allocation and productivity across teams to build visibility into team and client profitability.
  • Collaborate with our Client Relationship teams to ensure the delivery of a high‑quality financial management service that aligns with client needs, agreed deliverables and expectations.
  • Lead transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across all teams, driving process efficiency, automation, and technology adoption to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Undertake value‑chain reviews across all processes to establish the most effective operating model aligned to client needs and resource capability (UK and JBS).
  • Collaborate with the Transformation Director and cross‑functional teams to implement sector‑leading transformational activity within Financial Management.
  • Continually evaluate technology (including automation, data analytics, and workflow solutions) and process change to ensure our financial management capabilities remain appropriate and provide competitive edge.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement within the teams, encouraging innovation and ownership of process enhancement.
  • UK & JBS Engagement
  • Lead and engage seamlessly with our JBS teams (primarily in Gurugram, India) to ensure integrated delivery, shared service excellence and effective collaboration across geographies.
  • Establish clear accountability, communication protocols, and service level expectations with JBS leadership, ensuring visibility and transparency in offshore operations.
  • Develop sustainable working relationships and cultural alignment with JBS teams, promoting shared values and professional standards.
  • Work collaboratively to identify opportunities for right‑sourcing, shared learning and capability development across UK and JBS operations.
  • Lead by example, modelling JLL values and behaviours – integrity, service excellence, respect and accountability – to set the tone for a thriving, inclusive culture.
  • Be a visible, approachable leader across all five teams and the wider Norwich office, demonstrating genuine interest in team development, wellbeing, and professional growth.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, transparency and ownership within the teams.

Cultivate an environment of respect, integrity and excellence where colleagues feel valued and empowered.

  • Identify, develop and retain key talent with strong people management and technical accounting skills to ensure service delivery excellence and succession planning.
  • Work with HR to explore talent development, apprenticeships, graduate recruitment and accelerate JLL's People Agenda and presence in the local market.
  • Develop employee value proposition and drive demonstrable improvement in employee satisfaction, engagement and retention.
  • Financial & Business Performance
  • Manage and monitor the financial performance of all Financial Management teams, with accountability for cost allocation, budget management and cost‑control, in line with JLL's disciplined approach.
  • Support business development in conjunction with real estate professionals, overseeing pricing estimates and contributing to pitch development.
  • Develop a customer‑centric culture focusing on clients, occupiers and suppliers, and maintaining strong connectivity with the rest of the PM business.
  • Governance, Control & Compliance
  • Ensure that statutory and legislative requirements (including HMRC and RICS Client Money Rules) are satisfied for the company and its clients.
  • Actively participate in UK PM governance structures, including attendance and input to key governance forums.
  • Ensure continued management of risk with adherence to documented procedures and controls (including those within the ISAE 3402 report), acting as a Group Process Owner and/or Risk Sponsor where relevant.
  • Develop a culture of transparency, consistency, standardisation and accountability throughout the function.
  • Manage vendor partnerships and oversight in collaboration with Sourcing & Procurement.
  • Support the development and implementation of robust KPI reporting to ensure controls remain effective, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Be an active member of the UK PM Senior Management Team, providing strategic input into discussions and key initiatives.
