An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Manager to join one of the UK's largest and most respected infrastructure and construction organisations. Based in Stansted (2-3 days a week), you'll provide technical leadership across major aviation and intelligent building projects, leading the delivery of safe, compliant and innovative electrical and building services designs. The role of Design Manager involves:

  • Leading, managing and developing the design team
  • Planning and allocating design resources across multiple projects
  • Overseeing electrical and building services design delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, legislation, technical standards and internal governance
  • Leading technical reviews, site visits and stakeholder meetings
  • Developing and reviewing technical scopes, specifications and design solutions
  • Supporting tendering, procurement and project delivery teams
  • Reviewing and approving design deliverables for quality, compliance and buildability
  • Coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Driving innovation through BIM and other digital engineering solutions
  • Managing design changes and identifying associated commercial implications
  • Ensuring the effective handover of design information to construction, commissioning and operational teams

About you: You'll be an experienced Design Manager or senior engineering professional with a strong background in electrical engineering, building services or complex infrastructure design. You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and building services systems
  • Experience delivering projects within complex operational environments
  • A thorough understanding of CDM, design governance and change control
