An established industrial business is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to take responsibility for day-to-day site performance, people management and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity within a fast-paced, heavy industrial environment, requiring someone who can drive standards, develop teams and deliver consistent operational results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily site operations, ensuring safe, efficient and productive working practices.
- Manage, motivate and develop operational teams, promoting accountability and high performance.
- Monitor operational KPIs, productivity, throughput and cost control.
- Identify and implement improvements across site processes, workflows and resource utilisation.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability.
- Oversee operational planning, labour allocation and resource management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Build a positive, safety-focused culture across the site.
About You
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Production Manager or Site Management position.
- Background within heavy industry, metals, recycling, waste processing or a similarly demanding industrial environment.
- Strong people management skills with experience leading operational teams.
- Good understanding of health, safety and environmental responsibilities.
- Experience improving KPIs, productivity and operational efficiency.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to manage costs and operational resources.
- A practical, visible leadership style and the confidence to make decisions.
