We are recruiting for an experienced Reliability Engineer to join a large, fast-paced manufacturing operation in Barnsley. This is a key engineering role focused on improving asset reliability, preventative maintenance and equipment performance, while supporting the wider engineering and manufacturing teams to maximise plant availability and efficiency.
The Role
- Develop and optimise preventative and proactive maintenance programmes
- Improve the reliability of electrical, mechanical and automated equipment
- Analyse equipment performance, recurring failures and breakdown trends
- Lead escalation of complex breakdowns and liaise with OEMs
- Improve asset care and maintenance strategies
- Support maintenance planning, machine overhauls and equipment upgrades
- Develop maintenance procedures and technical documentation
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and engineering problem solving
- Support CAPEX projects and equipment obsolescence planning
- Improve machine availability, reliability, efficiency and engineering KPIs
- Work closely with Engineering and Production to drive continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- Apprentice trained or qualified within Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance
- Experience working with automated manufacturing/process equipment
- Strong understanding of PPM, preventative maintenance and asset care
- Experience with RCA, fault finding and problem-solving techniques
- Knowledge of OEM maintenance and asset care recommendations
- Experience planning machine overhauls, upgrades or engineering improvements
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Food/FMCG manufacturing experience would be advantageous
