Are you an experienced Senior Project Manager looking to lead a flagship infrastructure project worth over £30 million? We're recruiting on behalf of a leading UK infrastructure contractor for a Senior Project Manager to take ownership of a major wastewater treatment project as part of the AMP8 investment programme in the Thames Valley. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Project Manager who enjoys leading large, complex projects from construction through to commissioning, whilst managing high-performing teams and working closely with clients and stakeholders.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the safe, successful and profitable delivery of a landmark infrastructure project. Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Director, you'll provide strategic leadership across all aspects of project delivery, ensuring programme, quality, commercial performance and client expectations are consistently exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project from construction through to handover.
  • Manage multidisciplinary delivery teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
  • Drive exceptional standards in health & safety, quality and environmental performance.
  • Take ownership of project programme, commercial performance and risk management.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor and develop project teams whilst promoting innovation and continuous improvement.

About You

We're keen to speak with experienced Senior Project Managers who have delivered large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects for principal contractors. You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience delivering projects valued at £20m+.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and financial management experience.
  • Outstanding client-facing and stakeholder management abilities.
  • SMSTS and a valid CSCS Card.
  • HNC (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline.
  • Professional membership such as CIOB would be advantageous.

Previous water industry experience would be beneficial but is not essential. Candidates from major infrastructure, highways, rail, energy, utilities or heavy civil engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
