Engineering Manager We are recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a growing UK engineering and machinery manufacturer.
This is not a traditional maintenance-focused Engineering Manager role.
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in engineering design, machinery manufacture, CAD and product development to lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering function.
Reporting to the Engineering Director, you’ll take responsibility for engineering delivery, technical standards, team development and continuous improvement.
The Role Lead and develop the Engineering Department Manage engineering workloads, resources and priorities Lead CAD/Design and Product Development activities Oversee engineering projects from concept through to manufacture Review engineering designs, drawings and technical documentation Drive standardisation of machine drawings and engineering practices Lead NPD, product improvement and engineering innovation Manage engineering change control and documentation Work closely with Production, Projects, Quality, Procurement and Sales Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and efficiency What We're Looking For Engineering leadership experience within manufacturing, machinery or engineering Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge Experience in machinery design and manufacture Strong CAD knowledge – Solid Works, Auto CAD or similar Experience within a project-based manufacturing environment Product Development / NPD experience Strong leadership, planning and stakeholder-management skills Degree, HNC or HND in a relevant engineering discipline advantageous Experience within special purpose machinery, capital equipment, automation, materials handling, processing equipment or engineering OEM environments would be particularly relevant.
