A well-established, market-leading engineering business is looking to recruit a Pump Workshop Engineer to join its busy head office workshop team. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for someone who enjoys fault-finding, repairing and rebuilding mechanical/electrical equipment. You’ll be part of a close-knit engineering team working on a wide range of pumps and associated systems. If you like getting stuck into real engineering work—not just ticking boxes—this will suit you.

The Role

  • Inspect, service, repair and rebuild pumps and associated equipment
  • Carry out fault-finding and diagnose mechanical/electrical issues
  • Perform performance testing on equipment
  • Complete service reports, quotations and job documentation
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers where required
  • Support colleagues with technical problem-solving
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
  • Manage your own workload to meet deadlines and customer expectations

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Level 3 technical qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hands-on workshop environment
  • Electrically competent
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Experience working with pumps, motors or similar equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • IT literate (Microsoft Word & Excel)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own workload

Desirable:

  • Industry experience within pumps or rotating equipment
  • First Aid / CSCS certification
