We are currently recruiting for an experienced HSE Manager / Health & Safety Manager to lead all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) activities at a busy manufacturing site. This is an excellent opportunity for a NEBOSH qualified HSE professional with experience in manufacturing environments who is passionate about driving health & safety improvements, regulatory compliance, and environmental performance.
You will play a key role in developing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, ensuring the site operates safely while promoting a strong safety-first culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE / EHS / SHE) activities on site
- Maintain and improve ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and environmental regulations
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, inspections and incident investigations
- Manage chemical safety systems including COMAH, DSEAR and ATEX processes
- Oversee contractor management and emergency preparedness procedures
- Deliver and coordinate Health & Safety training, inductions and awareness programmes
- Maintain safety documentation including safety statements, fire safety registers and training records
- Manage environmental monitoring, waste management compliance and reporting
- Prepare reports for the Environment Agency and other regulatory bodies
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees to improve site safety performance
- Support and develop the EHS Officer
- NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (essential)
- Experience working as an HSE Manager, Health & Safety Manager, EHS Manager or SHE Manager
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience
- Knowledge of UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
- Experience with COMAH regulations and chemical management
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office / IT systems
- Degree in Health & Safety or related discipline
- Experience managing ISO management systems
- Experience working with regulatory bodies or environmental reporting
