Electrical Project Engineer – South West (SWW Projects)

J3A Recruitment are excited to be working with an up-and-coming EICA firm in the water sector that’s building a solid pipeline of work across South West Water projects. Due to an increase in workload through AMP 8, they’re now looking for an experienced Project Engineer. They’re not chasing the finished article — they want someone hungry, someone from the tools or a supervisory background who’s ready to step up into a Project Engineer role.

The work / projects as a Project Engineer:

  • Electrical installation on water & wastewater sites
  • Maintenance and upgrade works
  • Site refurbishments and asset improvements
  • Working alongside ICA teams on control systems, panels & instrumentation
  • Mix of reactive and planned project work across multiple sites

You’ll be involved from planning through to delivery, working closely with site teams, suppliers and clients.

What they’re after:

  • Electrical bias (must)
  • Experience as a Project Engineer or similar (Supervisor, Senior Engineer etc.)
  • Water industry experience (non-negotiable)
  • Based in the South West (within ~1–2 hours of Bideford)
  • Someone who wants to progress and take ownership

What you’ll get:

  • Circa ÂŁ55k (depending on experience)
  • 25 days + bank holidays
  • 5% pension
  • Company van or ÂŁ5k car allowance
  • Full IT kit + training
  • Progression opportunities from the offset
  • Upskilling and potential to gain full ICA knowledge from expert engineers

The real exciting bit here..... This isn’t a “stay in your lane” role. You’ll get exposure across EICA, build into a multi-disciplined engineer, and have a clear path to progress as the business grows.

If you’ve been:

  • Electrical Supervisor
  • Senior / Approved Electrician within water
  • Someone able to stand on their own two feet when challenges tumble in …and you’re thinking “I’m ready, just need the opportunity” — this is that opportunity.
