We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our team. This role is both hands-on and supervisory, requiring a strong technical background alongside proven people management skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving plant performance in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Work hands-on to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Lead, support, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring high performance and engagement.
- Manage and prioritise workloads in a high-pressure production environment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using a CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System), ideally SAP.
- Raise, track, and close work orders through SAP, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards and company procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior team members.
Technical Requirements
- Ideally multi-skilled with both electrical and mechanical competencies.
- Experience working with high-pressure systems, including steam and compressed air.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience within a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a similar multi-skilled engineering role.
- Previous experience in a people management or supervisory position is essential.
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to lead by example.
- Experience using CMMS systems, preferably SAP.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- Electrical qualifications (e.g., 17th/18th Edition) essential.
