Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a variety of products, including vehicle conversions and trailer systems, from concept through to production-ready designs.
- Ensure all product designs comply with relevant transportation regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with sales, purchasing, subcontractors, and production teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet customer requirements.
- Manage assigned design projects, ensuring timely completion and coordination of resources.
- Provide technical support by preparing detailed drawings for customer quotations and bespoke client needs.
- Proactively identify and solve design and manufacturing challenges.
- Maintain technical documentation, including CAD drawings, design specifications, and compliance records.
- Visit production sites as necessary to support design implementation and problem-solving.
Person Specification:
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in vehicle conversion or trailer design preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant safety, compliance regulations, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or similar.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
