Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop a variety of products, including vehicle conversions and trailer systems, from concept through to production-ready designs.
  • Ensure all product designs comply with relevant transportation regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with sales, purchasing, subcontractors, and production teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet customer requirements.
  • Manage assigned design projects, ensuring timely completion and coordination of resources.
  • Provide technical support by preparing detailed drawings for customer quotations and bespoke client needs.
  • Proactively identify and solve design and manufacturing challenges.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including CAD drawings, design specifications, and compliance records.
  • Visit production sites as necessary to support design implementation and problem-solving.

Person Specification:

  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in vehicle conversion or trailer design preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety, compliance regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or similar.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative problem solver with an innovative mindset.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality deliverables.
