Chase UK is transforming digital banking with intuitive, customer-first journeys on a modern platform backed by the trust and scale of JPMorgan Chase.
As a Software Engineer III within the International Consumer Bank, you will join a collaborative, diverse, and geographically distributed team. You will engineer the AWS foundation and runtime services that power Agent Assist, partnering with backend and Salesforce teams while meeting high expectations for security, reliability, and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- You will build and run AWS-native services and infrastructure that enable real-time, event-driven Agent Assist workflows, including streaming and serverless components using AWS Kinesis Data Streams and AWS Lambda, and contribute to designs that balance customer experience, risk controls, and maintainability.
- You will own the infrastructure-as-code operating model using Terraform, including module design, environment management, state controls, automated plan/apply workflows, and peer-reviewed change management aligned to regulated expectations.
- You will implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and release governance, including automated testing gates, artifact provenance, deployment strategies (for example blue/green or canary), and rollback practices.
- You will partner with backend engineering and Salesforce teams to integrate cloud services into end-to-end agent journeys, ensuring secure APIs, reliable event flows, and clear operational ownership.
- You will support LLM integration patterns (for example orchestration, routing, and safe invocation) while keeping primary accountability for dependable AWS platform foundations.
- You will operationalize reliability through observability (logs, metrics, traces), alerting, incident readiness, and service-level objectives, and drive performance tuning and cost optimization across compute, storage, and data transfer.
- You will implement and enforce security policies and controls including IAM least privilege, secrets management, encryption, audit logging, and policy-as-code.
- You will document architecture and operational runbooks, contribute to shared engineering standards, and participate in proof-of-concept initiatives that accelerate learning while protecting production stability.

- Proven ability to design and run CI/CD pipelines with release governance, auditability, and automated testing gates
- Security‑first mindset with experience implementing IAM least privilege, secrets handling, encryption, audit logging, and policy-as-code
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including clear design documentation and operational runbooks
- Working proficiency with Python and/or Java, and experience building or supporting microservices

Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting contact centre workflows or Agent Assist platforms
- Experience integrating with Salesforce and other enterprise systems
- Familiarity with SRE practices, observability, and operating services to defined SLOs

- Familiarity with additional AWS services used in secure platforms (for example API Gateway and VPC)
- Experience with deployment strategies and release governance in regulated environments
