As a Senior Lead Data Lake Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology, Chief Data and Analytics Office Development Team, you will play a pivotal role in an agile team committed to enhancing, developing, and delivering high-quality, reliable technology products securely, stably, and scalably. Your skills in problem-solving and your extensive technical knowledge will be utilized to tackle a broad spectrum of challenges across diverse technologies and applications, significantly influencing the business. Job responsibilities Provide technical guidance and direction to support the business, its technical teams, contractors, and vendors. Create complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks. Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by the team. Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes. Contribute actively to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle. Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies. Support and promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and proficient advanced experience. Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS or GCP) via hands-on experience or certification. Solid understanding of software applications and technical processes within related disciplines (e.g., data ingestion, data storage, data serving, APIs). Hands-on experience with data lake or data warehouse technologies (e.g., Spark, ETL, Databricks). Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Java or Python. Ability to independently address design and functionality problems with minimal oversight. Educational background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Additional hands-on experience or certification in cloud technologies (AWS or GCP). Proficiency in other programming languages, such as Java.
