The predicted salary is between 45400 - 58000 £ per year.

Base Location: Flexible Scotland. We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however, need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around Scotland, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness.

Salary: £54,952 - £64,738 + car / car allowance + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.

The role:

We have an opportunity for a new role of SCADA Specialist to join our team in supporting our Net Zero goals. Reporting directly to Real Time System Lead Engineers, you would co-ordinate the configuration of Substation Control Systems and ensure the efficient delivery of work activities on our transmission network substation projects. There is significant opportunity in this role to develop your skillset and learn about new applications and technologies.

You will:

  • Develop the substation I/O schedules following top-down engineering fundamentals and produce the substation control system configuration files.
  • Plan, schedule, resource and successful delivery of SCADA configurations.
  • Liaise with Network Engineering to identify incorrect or non-compliant signals and data. Follow the change management process to ensure SSEN specifications and signal libraries are updated.
  • Apply knowledge and processes to new sites and, through training and experience, apply this knowledge to legacy installations to drive standardisation and consistency across the whole network.
  • Represent SCADA and Control Room interests and assist in capital project delivery, ensuring safe and effective delivery of new asset substations.

You have:

  • A minimum HNC or working towards; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • A robust understanding of SCADA systems, energy control and commissioning processes.
  • Strong communication skills to manage your stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; advanced knowledge of formulas and presentation is highly desirable.
  • A proactive mindset in advancing changes and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
