About the role

Connect Plus Services (CPS) is a joint venture contract comprising Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering, AtkinsRéalis, and Egis. The contract manages and operates the M25 DBFO, including surrounding roads, on behalf of National Highways. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on one of Europe\'s busiest networks.

The Structures Asset includes over 2,500 structures, from small span structures to the QEII Bridge at Dartford River Crossing, and vehicle restraint systems covering 440 km of road network.

The Structure VRS Asset Manager will perform duties such as:

  1. Applying continuous improvement in asset understanding, inspection, data capture, risk assessment, prioritization, planning, and residual risk monitoring.
  2. Managing their direct reports and relationships with asset data and investment planning teams.
  3. Training others to achieve asset management outputs, including documentation, training materials, and guidance.
  4. Promoting best practices within the organization and industry.
  5. Holding delivery and maintenance teams accountable as an internal client.

All activities will be carried out in close collaboration with the Head of Structures, Connect Plus, and National Highways to ensure transparent communication for a safe and reliable service.

What you\'ll be doing

  1. Assessing asset intervention priorities aligned with risk assessments and developing long-term intervention strategies.
  2. Providing intelligence on asset performance and reporting metrics.
  3. Reviewing inspection methodologies and outcomes to ensure data quality and asset condition accuracy.
  4. Developing medium- and short-term maintenance plans to minimize network risk and ensure customer satisfaction.
  5. Collaborating with the Asset Data Team to meet data strategy requirements.
  6. Reporting on asset metrics, defect causes, and organizational improvements.
  7. Liaising with clients to communicate risk levels, projections, and value opportunities.

Who we\'re looking for

Qualifications, skills, and experience include:

  • Experience in highways & bridge asset management and inspection activities.
  • Familiarity with RWSC, DMRB, and SHW standards.
  • Experience working within the Strategic Road Network with National Highways.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of key performance indicators.
  • Willingness to adapt to new asset management systems and tools.
  • Understanding of Asset Management Systems like IAMIS.
  • Experience working in an NH Area contract.
