As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Equity Derivatives Tech, you will work to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Equity Derivatives Tech is looking for an experienced Java developer to tackle exciting engineering challenges, offering a superb opportunity to cultivate core Java, Spring, Kubernetes, and messaging technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) skills, as well as Python. You should be able to perform performance analysis and tuning of high throughput Java processes and be responsible for the delivery of critical Intraday Risk equity derivative applications. Multiple lines of business, complex products, and a contemporary tech stack will have to be managed as part of the role.

Job responsibilities:

  • Be a hands-on technologist helping the team think of well-rounded technical solutions with a good understanding of available contemporary solution options.
  • Performance analysis and tuning of high throughput Java processes.
  • Application support for business remediation to ensure stability.
  • Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary.
  • Create a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritise diverse representation.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Pro-active, having intellectual rigor with strong communication and team-working skills with exposure to Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent Java programming skills and concurrency experience.
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognising talent.
  • Experience of working in financial services, in a front or middle-office environment, and understanding of equity derivatives.
  • Strong hands-on experience and recognised expertise in Java and Python, with a keen interest in understanding and solving business-related problems.
  • Experience with messaging technologies like Kafka and RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with performance analysis and tuning, application support, and work for feature delivery demands.
