As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will be joining our Cloud Platform Engineering tribe, which is at the heart of a cutting-edge cloud-native AWS infrastructure that powers the Chase UK bank trusted by over 2 million customers. You will be exposed to a wide spectrum of technologies such as Kubernetes clusters, connectivity, databases, kafka clusters, as well as numerous opportunities to create automations to eliminate toil and improve developer experience.

We work in tribes and squads that focus on specific products and projects – and depending on your strengths and interests, you will have the opportunity to move among squads within the tribe.
Responsibilities- Maintain and improve AWS cloud infrastructure for 24/7 bank operations, focusing on stability, performance, security, and compliance.
- Enhance connectivity between AWS accounts, Chase, and third parties to ensure secure and reliable customer experiences.
- Design and create automation scripts and tooling using Bash, Python, or Go.
- Build and support cloud platforms for application developers, improving SDLC and developer experience.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate project efforts across business areas.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support platform reliability.
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- Understanding of AWS networking concepts.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes cluster operations (EKS).
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio).
- Experience configuring and managing reverse proxies (Traefik, NGINX, HAProxy).
- Proficiency in Go programming language.
- Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ICMP, VPN).
- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Commitment to DevOps principles and SDLC best practices.
- Familiarity with software engineering security best practices in cloud environments.
- Experience developing unit, integration, and end-to-end software tests.
