As a Technical Product Manager at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments technology team, you are the heart of this venture, focused on getting smart ideas into the hands of our customers. Job responsibilities

  • Act as the primary subject matter expert on payment schemes, leading integration efforts for clients and ensuring seamless connections with payment schemes.
  • Drive the development and execution of the product roadmap, focusing on enhancing and productising our payment capabilities.
  • Effectively gather business requirements and translate them into stories and acceptance criteria for both in-house and external engineering teams.
  • Help clients define business logic for payment flow orchestration based on scheme rules, prior experience and working knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with the payment scheme developments and regulations, to design and build payments connectivity with future compatibility and compliance.
  • Optimise the payments platform performance to ensure speed, security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Support implementation and testing, including operational set-up and training where required.
  • Participate in defining operating model and procedures for management of the connected payment schemes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Controls etc. to ensure the right process flows, procedures, training materials, etc are in place in good time.
  • Assist with the running of Agile ceremonies, e.g. DSUs.
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for all scheme related product queries, promptly addressing and escalating issues to management.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience working as a Technical Product Manager on EU and/or UK payment schemes.
  • Strong working knowledge of SEPA (SEPA Instant, SEPA CT and SEPA DD) and/or BACS (BACS DD, BACS CT) payment schemes.
  • Knowledge of financial messaging e.g. scheme messages, ISO20022.
  • Strong understanding of payment operations.
  • Comfortable working with financial grade APIs.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience working directly with clearing and settlement mechanisms (CSMs).
  • Project Management / Delivery qualifications.
  • Knowledge of the external/ competitor landscape, key players (inc. banks, PSPs, fintechs, vendors), legislative environment (Open Banking, PSD2/3 etc.).
