The Product Manager for Core Banking is responsible for managing the development, enhancement, and support of core banking and deposit products, while also managing client relationships. This role ensures solutions are robust, compliant, and tailored to client needs, acting as a bridge between engineering and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for core banking products.
- Incorporate client feedback and market trends into product planning.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, understanding their business needs and translating them into product requirements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement.
- Conduct regular client meetings, product demos, and feedback sessions.
- Collaborate with clients, Retail Banking, Operations, and Compliance to gather and document business and technical requirements.
- Translate requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
- Work with technology teams to design, configure, and implement deposit products and core banking functionalities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle: ideation, development, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
- Ensure all changes are documented and auditable for regulatory compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years in product management, business analysis, or a similar techno-functional role within core banking or deposit products, with direct client management experience.
- In-depth understanding of core banking systems and deposit product modules (e.g., Thought machine, Temenos, 10X etc).
- Familiarity with system integration, APIs, and data migration.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and any prior coding experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with process mapping and workflow design.
- Proven track record in client relationship management, including requirements gathering and solution delivery.
- Knowledge of deposit operations, interest calculation, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with deposit product launches, core banking implementation or migrations.
