As an Associate Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Agency Securities Finance (ASF) Technology team, you will join a global team responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure/platform for approximately 300 applications. The applications run in a cloud/on-prem hybrid with a gradual move to cloud in the future. The ASF applications are predominantly Spring Boot applications using Oracle Databases with Kafka, MQ, QPid messaging.
The ASF Technology team is a global team of around 100 engineers primarily focused in the Agency Lending business. The role will be based in London with the ASF trading and operations business spanning London, Bournemouth, New York, Dallas, India (Mumbai/Hyderabad), Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney. ASF is part of a wider Securities Services group within the Corporate and Investment Banking division.
Job responsibilities:
- Building and maintenance of AWS environment (EKS, ECS Fargate)
- Partner with developers to help design new applications
- Building and maintenance of on-prem infrastructure (VSI/GVP)
- Collaborate with Application Owner and SRE team to manage production platform updates (FARM / AOComms)
- Help diagnose production infrastructure problems
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Minimum of 3 years experience
- Hands-on practical experience in AWS, EKS and Terraform
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages: preferably Python, but others considered.
- Some shell scripting experience
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Familiarity with Ansible
- Java and Spring Boot application experience
- SQL
- Messaging systems (JMS, Kafka)
