As a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in our technology team, you will design, build, and support automated testing frameworks for backend applications. You will collaborate closely with developers and engineers to ensure robust, scalable, and reliable systems. Your expertise in Python, cloud technologies, and modern architecture will help us deliver high-quality products. You will play a key role in driving innovation and efficiency within our testing processes. Together, we foster a culture of learning, teamwork, and excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and support automated testing frameworks for backend applications
  • Develop and maintain test scripts using Python3 and pytest
  • Implement and validate REST API functionality and principles
  • Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes while establishing consistent validation standards and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
  • Apply modern microservice architecture concepts, including resiliency and load-balancing
  • Create and run Docker containers for testing environments
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in test automation and environments
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Prior experience as an SDET or Software Developer
  • Proficiency in Python3 and familiarity with testing frameworks (pytest preferred)
  • Experience designing and supporting automated testing frameworks for backend applications
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
  • Understanding of REST API design and hands-on experience
  • Knowledge of modern microservice architecture and concepts
  • Hands-on experience with Docker containers
  • Experience with at least one cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP (AWS preferred)
  • Experience creating CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions (Jenkins preferred)

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, Splunk, etc.)
  • Familiarity with backend frameworks like Spring, Micronaut, or Dropwizard (Spring is a big plus)
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with non-functional testing
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and tools like Terraform
  • Experience designing and supporting automated testing frameworks for frontend applications
