As a Risk Governance Vice President in International Consumer Banking Risk team, you will support the design and delivery of a strong and consistent risk governance framework across the business. You will work closely with Risk colleagues and senior stakeholders to ensure risks are clearly identified, well governed, and effectively documented. You will help the firm operate responsibly by anticipating emerging risks and maintaining high standards of governance, transparency, and control. Job responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end risk governance support across International Consumer Banking Risk, including acting as secretariat for Risk Committees and forums.
  • Prepare materials for regulatory reviews, audits, and Legal Entity Board governance forums.
  • Coordinate the review, drafting, amendment, and publication of risk policies, standards, and related documentation.
  • Ensure risk documentation aligns with regulatory requirements and firmwide governance standards.
  • Provide guidance to Risk colleagues on governance and documentation requirements.
  • Contribute to the review of legal and regulatory obligations and support appropriate mapping to risk documentation.
  • Partner with stakeholders to assess impacts of regulatory change on governance processes.
  • Support ad-hoc governance and documentation initiatives across the broader Consumer and Community Banking Risk organisation.
  • Participate in working groups and cross-functional initiatives as required.
  • Promote a strong culture of risk awareness and best practice across the Risk organization.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with risk governance frameworks within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to retail banking.
  • General understanding of retail banking products, including deposits and/or consumer credit.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience acting as committee secretariat.
  • Ability to build credibility and effective working relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with a disciplined approach to controls and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and close attention to detail.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience supporting regulatory change initiatives within a risk or compliance function.
  • Exposure to governance processes across multiple legal entities or geographies.
  • Experience working in a large, complex, regulated organization.
  • Familiarity with risk policy frameworks and documentation lifecycle management.
  • Confidence working with senior committees and governance forums.
