As a Vice President Experience Design Lead in CIB Markets Operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience across our products and services. Leveraging your deep knowledge of design and research practices to lead strategically important initiatives and develop innovative solutions that align with business requirements and user needs. As a subject matter expert, collaborate with cross-functional teams, guide, and mentor junior designers, and foster a culture of inclusivity and accessibility. Your expertise in experience strategy and inclusive design will ensure that our offerings are not only visually appealing but also accessible and user-friendly, enhancing the overall customer experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute design/research strategies for complex projects and ensure alignment with business objectives and user needs across multiple product areas.
- Diagram service flows and product features, design wireframes, and prototype interactions for key touchpoints as you lead end-to-end design initiatives within a specific domain.
- Drive the adoption of inclusive design practices and accessibility guidelines, mentor junior designers and foster a culture of diversity and inclusion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user experience design into the product development processes and ensure seamless and customerâcentric solutions.
- Analyse market trends and learn from data insights to inform design decisions and optimize user experiences across various platforms and channels.
- Operate with an iterative design mindset, gather and incorporate user feedback and insights to continuously improve the overall user experience of our offerings.
- Design experiences across our Markets Operations programs and ideate and prototype to explore different options including articulation of target state experiences.
- Partner with Experience Design Researchers and Lead Designers, participate in upfront user research to better understand user needs and behaviours, and perform usability testing to see how your solutions work for users.
- Collaborate directly with engineering peers, advocating for the user's perspective when working crossâfunctionally.
- Diagram the interactivity of the product, including user flows and wireframes, and detail the designs, built upon our Design System, that bring our solutions to life.
- Present work and articulate design decisions to senior stakeholders.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to create visual representations of user journeys, such as storyboarding, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Demonstrated experience in inclusive design, accessibility guidelines and assistive technologies, with the ability to incorporate diverse perspectives and abilities into design solutions.
- Proven ability to develop experiences that meet or exceed the initial proposal of a product or experience, including the development of transformational innovation strategies and the creation of 'north star' representations to drive customerâcentric decisionâmaking.
- Proven ability to create visually appealing and functional designs using industryâstandard tools (e.g. Figma).
- Proven ability to interpret complex data sets and transform into actionable insights for informed decisionâmaking.
- Plans and structures their own work, executing quality work within expected timeframes.
- Demonstrated experience with userâcentered design approaches.
- Prior work collaborating within design teams (including other designers, UX researchers, and content designers) and crossâfunctionally with product managers and software engineers.
- Demonstrates strong Interaction Design skills paired with proficiency in Visual/UI Design or Information Architecture; Development in adjacent skills such as User Research, UX Writing, and Prototyping.
- Proficient in articulating the reasoning behind your choices and demonstrating an understanding of the technical constraints and opportunities that informed your design solutions.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Design leadership or managerial experience.
- Comfortable with structuring and planning design work in crossâfunctional contexts.
- Prior experience designing applications within complex business domains (financial services, other).
- Familiar with technology concepts and an understanding of various technical approaches and lifecycles (e.g. agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, and frontend dev structures).
- Understand product lifecycles from a UX perspective (e.g. how user experience evolves throughout the different stages of a product's lifecycle).
- Preferred experience in designing applications within complex business domains or enterprise environments, particularly involving largeâscale transformation programs.
- Bachelor's or master's Degree in relevant design discipline (e.g., Interaction Design, HCI, User Experience Design) or equivalent work experience.
- Have shipped digital products or a launchâready prototype.
- Understanding of basic technical context of your designs; familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Foundational understanding of business needs, and how design connects with it.
- Knowledge and experience working in Agile methodologies a plus.
