As a Lead UI Developer within the Digital team, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of designers, user researchers, product managers, and engineers creating products and services for our customers. You will promote and deliver engaging, thoughtful visual UI design solutions to complex problems and shape the next generation of B2B customer-focused products and services. You will lead and advise on ensuring the delivery of visual UI designs are implemented effectively from product design to engineering build to deployment. You will partner with leads and stakeholders to identify and evolve visual design directions and uphold design consistency across the organization.
Job responsibilities include:
- Drive and deliver engaging, thoughtful visual UI design solutions to complex problems and shaping the next generation B2B customer-focused products and services
- Lead and advise on how to ensure the delivery of visual UI designs are implemented effectively through product design to engineering build to deployment
- Deliver appropriate visual design artifacts high-quality visual UI design outcomes in a timely manner and efficient execution (e.g. mood boards, concepts, UI layouts, design system components, templates, documentation and style guides)
- Partner with leads and stakeholders to identify and evolve visual design directions and how to uphold design consistency across the organisation
- Ensure deliverables are consistent with the brand and Design Systems
- Understand wider design application including brand, experience and implementation and base decisions on solid visual design principles and customer data
- Champion accessibility and usability through visual, interface and interaction design
- Work closely with other disciplines to understand and provide feedback to design context
- Support best practices and methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness
- Work closely and present your work to team members, stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure that requirements and solutions are clearly communicated, agreed and implemented as specified
Job requirements:
- Solid hands on experience in roles such as Senior or Lead UI designer
- Strong portfolio of deep understanding of visual UI design fundamentals (colour, iconography, typography, structure and visual hierarchy) and solid application of user interface (usability, comprehension, and accessibility)
- Experience of creating visual UI design for products/ services from scratch as well as production knowledge of the delivery process
- Experience in creating visual design language and UI for Design Systems, component libraries, style guides, and documentation
- Awareness and practical understanding of current technologies and their application and relevance to digital experiences
- Ability to develop and sustain effective and cooperative working relationships with peers, managers and other internal or external stakeholders
- Proficiency with modern design systems, prototyping software and design tools (we use Figma) and comfortable prototyping and designing at different levels of fidelity
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent professional experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience in the Atlassian suite of software (Jira & Confluence) is desirable
- Experience with B2B applications preferred
