As the Lead Technical Program Governance Manager within the Corporate Risk Technology, Program Governance and Management team, you will promote the successful delivery of complex technology projects and programs to meet business objectives across the firm. You will utilize your extensive knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories to create innovative solutions while efficiently managing resources, budgets, and high‑performing teams. Your strong analytical reasoning and adaptability will help you navigate through ambiguity and change, ensuring that technology initiatives are aligned with business goals. With your advanced communication and stakeholder management skills, you will cultivate productive working relationships and influence decision‑making to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Risk Technology equips the firm with a suite of applications and processes to manage risk in areas such as Market Risk, Wholesale Credit Risk, Asset Wealth Management, and Climate Risk. In this role, you will also enhance Program Governance across the Risk organization and help define and implement an approach that provides full investment transparency to all stakeholders. Engaging with the Risk Engineering teams will be crucial to understanding current work execution and building relationships with key project execution stakeholders across Corporate Technology and the Risk Management organization. You will review project execution ownership models and ensure appropriate execution governance is in place.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure on‑time delivery of technology solutions.
- Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing contingency plans to maintain project and program momentum.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, product, and business stakeholders, to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Utilize advanced analytical reasoning to assess program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement data‑driven optimizations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Champion the adoption of agile methodologies and technical solutions, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
- Manage cross‑pillar program execution, driving the successful delivery of technology initiatives.
- Define and execute on the governance for key Risk Technology programs, working with senior management to review progress, risks, and milestones for key programs on a regular cadence.
- Define workstreams and provide leadership across those workstreams; set scope, direction/approach, agree and track deliverables.
- Facilitate collaboration across diverse teams to design solutions and drive the programs implementation.
- Manage critical dependencies across pillars and with other teams within the firm.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a large organization.
- Advanced expertise in stakeholder management, with the ability to establish productive working relationships and influence decision‑making across cross‑functional teams and clients.
- Advanced experience in utilizing technical fluency, including knowledge of vendor products and managing vendor relations, to enable on‑demand access to shared pools of applications and services.
- Proven track record of effectively managing resources, budgets, and high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem‑solving techniques to break down business, technical, or operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating discussions to design technology solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to work through the detail of how an engineering organisation operates today, and understand the strengths and weaknesses of that approach.
