As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Public Cloud Engineering organization, you play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to facilitating the adoption and utilization of public cloud services across the company. Your contributions and expertise promote significant business impact, as you leverage your deep technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to address a wide range of challenges involving various technologies and applications.
Job Responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies.
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on cloud engineering concepts and proficient advanced experience.
- Extensive practical experience with at least one public cloud (Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services).
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s): Python, Java, Golang.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Hands-on practical experience with Infrastructure As Code tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Practical cloud native experience including containerization and Kubernetes.
- Relevant public cloud certifications (GCP Cloud Architect, GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS CloudOps Engineer etc.).
- Experience building and operating observability platforms for large organisations (GCP Cloud Logging, GCP Cloud Monitoring, AWS CloudWatch).
