Be an integral part of an agile team that is constantly pushing the envelope to enhance, build, and deliver mission critical foundational services for the JPMC Public Cloud Atlas platform. As a Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, within Cloud Foundational Services Marketplace (Infrastructure Platforms), you are an essential part of a curious and inspiring agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver Public Cloud products to application development teams across the entire firm. You will work with modern automation tools to enable Infrastructure as Code approaches on Public Cloud platforms. You will understand, develop and apply cyber controls on Public Cloud ensuring usage aligns with firm wide cyber policies. As a Software Engineer you are in the middle of the most complex problem areas driving out solutions as part of the team.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes and leads software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains.
  • Produces and designs artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience.
  • Experience in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles using Terraform on Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience of developing and testing using automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Go, Python, Java).
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Exposure to cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
