Infrastructure Finance and Advisory
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and to contribute to our Investment Banking business. The Infrastructure Finance and Advisory group has a global mandate to lend and/or advise clients on financing infrastructure projects and infrastructure companies and work with coverage, product and sales teams to develop and execute solutions across all verticals including digital, transportation, energy, utilities and social infrastructure. The group's London-based team is primarily focused on Europe, Middle East and Africa. It is comprised of experts in project finance, bonds, loans, structured products and derivatives.
You will be involved in acquisition finance, greenfield and brownfield finance, restructuring and recapitalisations, hedging, ratings advisory and capital structure advisory as part of M&A deal teams. By leveraging expertise across products, sectors and markets, you will integrate and customize offerings and solutions to help our clients meet their strategic, financial and risk management objectives.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced banker to be based in London who will help consolidating IFA's leading position in the EMEA region with focus on emerging markets including the Middle East, Trkiye, CIS region and Africa. The recruited professional would:
- Lead all aspects of deal execution for bank and bond financings in the region. Responsibilities will include structuring, contract negotiation, due diligence, consultant management and leading credit ratings processes.
- Lead on staple financing, lender education and acquisition financing linked to selected M&A opportunities.
- Lead advisory mandates both on debt advisory and M&A related capital structuring advisory.
- Oversee the development of financial models.
- Lead credit risk and other internal approval processes.
- Assist product teams in structuring hedging products.
- Work with coverage and relationship bankers to pitch for new engagements and develop client relationships both for corporate and funds.
- Conduct industry and company research to identify new opportunities.
Qualifications
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in project finance / infrastructure finance (banking advisory and/or principal investing), with demonstrated progression in responsibility.
- Proven track record executing EMEA structured infrastructure transactions. Meaningful exposure to MENA / Trkiye / CIS markets would be looked upon favorably.
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in engineering, accounting, finance, economics or a related field.
- Existing infrastructure client and investor relationships and knowledge of the infrastructure industry and markets.
- Advanced financial modeling capability.
- Advanced knowledge of financial instruments including bank loans, ECA/DFI products, bonds, rates, FX and structured products.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Must be a self-starter with strong project management and prioritization skills; able to balance long-cycle execution with a high-volume day-to-day workflow.
- Willingness to work hard and be a team player.
- Willingness to travel across the region as needed and work effectively across time zones; strong cultural awareness and professionalism in emerging market environments.
This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
