Clearing Operations Associate
Location: Bournemouth Contract: 12 months Work Setup: Hybrid - 4 days in the office (Fully onsite for 6 weeks)

What You'll Do
- Process and monitor exchange-cleared Futures & Options trades on Trade Date (T), ensuring timely, accurate clearing into GMI and maintaining the integrity of cleared trade processing.
- Investigate and resolve clearing exceptions, trade queries and processing issues, ensuring trades are correctly booked and suspense accounts remain balanced.
- Support downstream Operations teams by analysing trade activity and clearing records to resolve position, cash and settlement breaks.
- Perform clearing-related operational activities, including average pricing, allocations, daily operational controls and support during contract roll and quarterly expiry periods.
- Liaise with exchanges, clearing brokers, Front Office, Middle Office, Technology and Operations teams to resolve operational issues and deliver an efficient clearing service.
- Escalate operational risks, exceptions and service issues promptly, ensuring timely resolution in line with agreed service levels and control standards.
- Contribute to system testing, operational change, process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, controls and service delivery.
What You Bring
- 2+ years' experience in Financial Services, ideally within Futures & Options Operations, Clearing Operations or another post-trade environment; alternatively, a relevant Financial Services degree.
- Good understanding of exchange-traded derivatives, the listed derivatives trade lifecycle and clearing processes.
- Experience with reconciliations, data analysis and data administration within an operational environment.
- Knowledge of GMI or similar clearing platforms and familiarity with central counterparty (CCP) clearing processes is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with excellent communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset focused on automation and operational efficiency.
