This role is hands‑on and delivery‑driven, steering copy across campaigns, product and customer communications while juggling multiple timelines and priorities. You’ll lead by example — writing, editing and shaping copy that is both compelling and commercially effective.

How We Lead At Boden
Being a manager at Boden is about giving people clarity, backing them properly, and helping them do their best work. You make things make sense. You take big ideas and turn them into clear priorities, so people know what they’re doing and (most importantly) why it matters. Your communication is clear and open – you listen and you don’t overcomplicate things. You take responsibility. When big decisions need to be made, you make them. When things change, you adapt. And when things don’t go to plan, you own it and move things forward. You stay close to what matters – our customer, our brand and our goals – using that to guide decisions and keep teams aligned. Most importantly, you build a team people actually want to be a part of – where people feel trusted, supported and able to grow.
What You Will Do
- Bringing our unique Boden tone of voice to life across every channel — from website to emails to catalogues and social.
- Leading and nurturing our talented team of copywriters — championing their ideas, sharpening their skills, and helping them flourish. Encourage a culture of bravery and outside the box thinking alongside technical excellence and efficiency.
- Acting as the daily custodian of quality, consistency and brand brilliance. Ensure accuracy in sub-editing across all content.
- Collaborating with brand content team, head of words (campaign), graphics, product and marketing teams.
- Ensuring every headline, PLP description and campaign line not only makes our customers feel ‘seen’ but also drives engagement and sales. Full of British spirit and impossible to ignore.
- Working hand-in-hand with marketing and e-commerce to make sure creativity and commerce live happily ever after.
What We Are Looking For
- Writing and Editing: Strong experience writing and editing copy — ideally within fashion or lifestyle brands (journalistic / editorial background very welcome) and can understand the importance of tone of voice.
- Leadership: You’ve guided, mentored or managed junior talent before — and you know how to get the best from creative minds without dimming their shine.
- Conceptual Thinking: You’ve always got a “bag of ideas” at the ready and can spin a brilliant campaign concept from a single spark.
- Versatility: You’re nimble, quick-thinking and comfortable juggling digital and print at a dynamic pace.
- Cultural awareness: You’ve got your finger firmly on the pulse of fashion, trends-at-large and the competitive landscape — and you know how to make a brand stand out in it.
In short: we’re after a word-loving, idea-slinging, team-leading brand champion who can balance creative brilliance with commercial clout — all while keeping things unmistakably, unapologetically British and Boden.
Our Behaviours
At Boden, how we work matters just as much as what we deliver. We keep things simple. We say what we mean, keep each other in the loop, and follow through on what we’ve said we’ll do. We care about doing a good job – and we care about each other. We’re always kind, often honest, and we will push for high standards without making it heavy. We know what we’re good at, we lean on each other when needed, and we show up as a team – taking ownership and getting things done together.
