Overview

The Senior Production Controller reports to the Head of Print Management and is responsible for the management of the Womenswear and Childrenswear Lifestyle Image, ensuring all publishing content meets the required standards of quality, budget and schedule. This role is also responsible for the management of the pre-press budget, image quality for all lifestyle imagery. This is a 12 month FTC. This role is 4 days a week: 2 days in our North Acton office and 2 days WFH.

What You Will Do

  • Pre-Press Management & Image Quality
    • To manage the external supply of retouched lifestyle imagery for Womenswear & Childrenswear within agreed budget and report on overspend/savings.
    • To estimate and report on costs for all pre-press requirements across all ranges.
    • To manage supplier service levels and improve quality output.
    • Pricing contracts for repro in place.
    • Awareness of potential opportunities to maximise budget, e.g. alternative suppliers, methods and technology.
    • Ability to ‘flex capacity’ during peaks.
    • Regular supplier reviews in place and software/technology development milestones.
    • Feedback from stakeholders about the quality of imagery.
    • Controlled workflow from shoot to delivery.
    • Lifestyle image team are educated on how to maximise quality from imagery supplied.
  • Planning & Schedule Management
    • To manage the scheduling of post-production for all activity based on the marketing brief/workfront brief/production plan ensuring technical expectations are deliverable.
    • Plan and schedule in place for launch and subsequent ‘drops’ of all assets.
    • Team are aware of launch and drop dates.
    • Ensure workload is distributed and monitored within the team.
    • Correct proofing processes are followed by individual and team members.
    • Adapting basic schedules to react to changing needs of the business and external pressures.
    • Ensuring key critical path dates are met by the team.
  • Image & Page Production
    • To manage the execution of all lifestyle imagery for catalogues, other print, social and online features for both Womenswear and Childrenswear ensuring images meet quality standards.
    • Ensuring the correct processes are followed by the team.
    • Working closely with CDs & ADs on the shoot brief and adapting to maximise quality.
    • Managing buyers/Ads expectation.
    • Products are correctly swatch matched.
    • Pages proofed to the expected standard at the correct time, internal proofing, epsoms/PDFs & Insite.
    • Reviews in place to improve communication and develop processes.
    • Work closely with the Shoot and Project Management team on controlled workflow from shoot to delivery.
    • Respond to the changing needs and priorities for the business.
    • Support Head of Print Management.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong Post Production experience.
  • Knowledge of digital publishing.
  • Colour management and press passing experience.
  • Fashion knowledge will be an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proofing experience.
  • Experience of optimising imagery for digital channels.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Capture One, Digital Publishing Suite.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of offset web and sheet lithography, gravure and digital print process.
