Introduction
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Groundworker Apprentice to join our team, working across a variety of construction sites throughout Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
This is a mobile role, so the successful candidate will work at different locations depending on current projects.

What You'll Do
You will work alongside experienced members of the team while developing the practical skills, knowledge and behaviours required to become a qualified groundworker.
The role will involve a wide variety of groundwork and construction activities and would suit someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and working outdoors.
Key Duties
As a Groundworker Apprentice, your duties may include:
- General groundwork and site preparation
- Preparing and levelling ground
- Topsoiling and landscaping preparation
- Installing steelwork and reinforcement
- Excavation and preparation of foundations
- Installing and maintaining drainage systems
- Concreting and foundation work
- Preparing areas for paths, roads and other surfaces
- General building and site maintenance
- Moving and preparing construction materials
- Using hand tools and construction equipment
- Supporting experienced groundworkers and other trades on site
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Following site health and safety procedures at all times
- Carrying out other general construction duties as required
Training Outcome
During the apprenticeship, you will gain practical experience across a range of groundwork activities while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification. You will be supported by experienced colleagues and given the opportunity to develop the skills required for a long-term career within construction and groundworks.
